The client is a well-established turnkey Principal Contractor with a turnover of c£80m. This has been achieved by working collaboratively with our clients to understand their needs and become an extension of their business, expanding service offerings and geography to meet the expectations required.
The Mechanical Design Engineer Role
They are currently looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer with design capabilities, to work on a wide variety of projects in sectors including Data Centres, Commercial Fit Outs, Refurbishment Projects, and Project lifecycle works. You will be working between office locations in both Greenwich and Canary Wharf.
Roles & Responsibilities Include:
- Client liaison to develop relationships and offer support to achieve trusted advisor status.
- Assistance in the assessment of new works and fee submissions.
- Provide technical support to wider delivery business through Stage 5 development of working drawings and technical review/approval of technical submittals to ensure they remain aligned with the Stage 4 design intent and our CPD responsibilities.
- Develop and produce all necessary Mechanical calculations and design solutions from briefing stage through to detailed design stage.
- Monitor and assist with construction works as they progress on site in respect of compliance and high-quality standards set by the business.
- Lead and run key testing and commissioning activities such as ISTs and Black Building Tests.
- Undertake technical appraisals of existing buildings to develop short and long term development strategies, which will include:
- Energy Performance Assessments
- Load and Capacity reviews
- Life Cycle Replacement Reports
- Single Point of Failure Analysis (SPOF)
- Resiliency reviews
