My client is an independent construction contractor with longstanding customer relationships stretching back over two decades. These projects consist of New Builds and Refurbishments, primarily in the residential and commercial sectors.
The Site Manager Role: They have recently secured a new build care home project in Preston with an approximate duration of 12 months and they require a No.1 Site Manager to take day to day responsibility for the project, supported by a Project Manager and a roving Contracts Manager.
Site Managers Roles & Responsibilities Include:
- Responsible for programme completion, monitoring progress against programme, taking remedial action where appropriate, protecting the company’s contractual position at all times.
- Management of Health & Safety to implement and maintain high standards of Health & Safety on site in accordance with the company’s H&S policy and construction phase H&S plan.
- Control of site to oversee all site activities, being available at all times to deal with any site specific problems or queries.
- Cost Management to manage the project within budget, safeguarding the company’s financial position at all times.
- Management of all Site Operatives to manage all staff including the appointment and review of all trade and subcontractors.
- Quality Control to maintain high standards of quality on each project.
- Client Satisfaction to develop and maintain good working relationships with design team / client and supply chain.
The Successful Site Manager:
- Ideally previous Care Home related project experience. If not Care Homes, then multi-occupancy projects such as Student Accommodation, Hospitals, Residential Apartments, etc.
- Relevant CSCS, SMSTS and First Aid Qualifications.
- Able to collate information from his team to prepare and present the project report.
- Sufficient communication skills to deal with members of the public and other pertinent parties.
- Sufficient IT, numeracy and literacy skills to fulfil position responsibilities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of plant operations, maintenance and capabilities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety rules, regulations and practices.
- Demonstrated ability to complete all necessary paperwork associated with areas of responsibility.
