A regional D&B construction contractor is seeking a Senior Contracts Manager with a salary range of GBP70k - GBP80k (dependent on experience), plus a GBP5k car allowance and additional benefits.

The company is an independent construction contractor with longstanding customer relationships spanning over two decades. Projects include new builds and refurbishments, primarily in the residential and commercial sectors, carried out on a Design & Build basis.

The Senior Contracts Manager Role

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Senior Contracts Manager will strengthen the senior operations team and manage the implementation and delivery of a variety of projects in the North West region. Typical project values range from approximately GBP3m to GBP12m.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Build good relationships with the client and project team.
  • Ensure all aspects of the fit-out process are satisfactorily completed on time, within cost, and to the highest possible standards.
  • Deliver snag-free jobs and manage at least two contracts simultaneously, varying in value from GBP3m to GBP12m.
  • Liaise with construction teams, landlords, and clients.
  • Control design and coordinate directly with designers.
  • Coordinate contractors/design against specifications and costs.
  • Have a clear understanding of standard work practices, relevant BS standards, and codes.

The Senior Contracts Manager should have:

  • A proven track record working in a multi-sector Design and Build Main Contractor with turnover between GBP10million to GBP50million.
  • Strong programming abilities as a prerequisite.
  • Strong contractual and commercial experience.
  • Preferable traditional building experience in multi-occupation spaces such as care homes, student accommodation, hotels, and residential apartments.
  • The ability to travel and understand the dedication needed to support the team.
  • Demonstrated strong customer-facing skills, client focus, and a positive attitude.
  • The ability to manage multiple platform schemes nationally.
  • The ability to make robust and structured decisions under pressure.
  • The ability to fully interpret architect drawings and implement buildability solutions on the spot.
  • Be a key contributor to the team and a high motivator.
  • Commercial awareness to ensure business needs and client alignment.
  • Programming experience (Microsoft/Asta).
  • Computer literacy: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
