Holiday allowance of 22 days plus days gifted between Christmas and New Year each year. Option to take up to 5 days unpaid holiday.

Based out of London office but some working from home permitted. 45p per mile mileage.

The Company: My client is a main contractor who specialises in Commercial Interior Fit-Out & Refurbishment working with blue chip clients in the public and private sector creating workplaces and environments that enhance their clients' business processes.

The Health & Safety Manager Role: Based out of their London office, the Health and Safety Manager is responsible for the Safety Management System and ensuring they always have a safe and compliant work environment by actively managing and minimizing risks through regular audits, updated risk assessments and providing comprehensive health and safety support and advice to all stakeholders. They also maintain important registrations and certifications to demonstrate the company's commitment to safety standards and regulations.

The Successful Health & Safety Manager:

  • Relevant NEBOSH Qualifications
  • Background experience in health and safety within construction industry including fit out and built environment experience.
  • High degree of knowledge and understanding of the current CDM Regulations.
  • Experience of advising on safe access (knowledge and experience of tube and fit and mobile tower scaffolding essential).
  • Experience of advising on asbestos management.
  • Experience of advising on mobile cranes (suitability of lifting plans).
  • Show up to date knowledge of technical developments in legislation and in risk management / health and safety issues.
  • Interest in providing advice and support to Design team in design risk avoidance & ongoing risk management.
  • Interest in providing advice and support to Pre-con team to assist with tenders.
  • Ability to influence and communicate effectively (written and verbal).
  • Ability to produce clear, high-quality verbal and written reports.
  • Ability to plan and manage time / tasks / priorities to tight deadlines.
  • Comfortable providing advice to Site Managers, Project Managers, Designers and Board members.
  • Comfortable providing advice direct to clients periodically.
  • Able to show knowledge, resilience and confidence in confrontational situations.
  • Able to cope with peaks and troughs in workload.
  • Comfortable using a conciliatory and relationship building approach to progress cultural change.
