Build Maintain Recruit is recruiting on behalf of a well-established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy looking to appoint an Associate Civil Engineer for its Bristol office. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Civil Engineer looking to take the next step in their career or an existing Associate seeking a fresh challenge.

The business has a strong reputation across multiple engineering disciplines and is looking to strengthen its civil engineering presence in Bristol. You'll play a key role in developing the civil engineering offering locally while benefiting from the support, technical expertise and project pipeline of established teams across the wider business.

As Associate Civil Engineer, you will provide technical leadership across a range of infrastructure and development projects while supporting the continued growth of the civil engineering function.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the design and delivery of highways, drainage and infrastructure projects.
  • Managing projects from feasibility through to construction.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients and stakeholders.
  • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Supporting business development activities and identifying new opportunities.
  • Reviewing technical designs and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Coordinating multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Mentoring and developing engineers and technicians.
  • Supporting recruitment, team growth and succession planning within the office.
  • Contributing to the strategic development of the civil engineering offering in Bristol.

About You

We are keen to speak with experienced Civil Engineers who enjoy combining technical delivery, client management and leadership responsibilities.

You will ideally have:

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Chartered status (MICE) or working towards chartership.
  • Strong consultancy experience delivering infrastructure and development projects.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of highways, drainage and civil engineering design.
  • Experience managing projects and client relationships.
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of project financial performance.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ambition to play a key role in the growth of a successful consultancy.
