We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established specialist contractor delivering complex construction and engineering projects across the data centre, energy and critical infrastructure sectors. This is an exciting opportunity to join a flagship hyperscale data centre development in West London. The project includes the construction of two new data centres, an office building and associated infrastructure works, following extensive demolition, remediation and enabling works. This role would suit an experienced Senior Engineer looking to play a key role in the successful delivery of a technically challenging, high-profile project.
The Role
As Senior Engineer, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day engineering delivery of allocated work packages, providing technical leadership throughout construction. You'll work closely with site teams, designers and subcontractors to ensure engineering activities are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering activities across allocated project packages.
- Provide technical support to site and construction teams.
- Coordinate engineering resources and technical priorities.
- Manage technical queries (RFIs) and engineering documentation.
- Support temporary works coordination and technical interfaces.
- Ensure engineering information is available ahead of construction activities.
- Monitor engineering progress and identify delivery risks.
- Carry out inspections and ensure works comply with approved drawings and specifications.
- Support quality management, inspections, testing and NCR resolution.
- Maintain accurate engineering records and project documentation.
- Work collaboratively with project stakeholders to achieve programme milestones.
About You
You'll have experience working on major construction, infrastructure or mission-critical projects and be confident managing engineering packages from pre-construction through to delivery.
Essential:
- Degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience delivering engineering packages on large construction or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and engineering coordination.
- Experience managing RFIs, technical queries and engineering records.
- Knowledge of temporary works and engineering interfaces.
- CSCS Manager Card.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Desirable:
- Previous data centre or other mission-critical project experience.
- Working towards Chartered Engineer status.
