Due to ongoing expansion, they are looking to appoint a Planner to join their technical function.

The Opportunity

  • This is a key position within the business, supporting the progression of residential schemes from early-stage acquisition through to site delivery. You’ll take ownership of the planning process across a number of developments, ensuring applications are managed efficiently and approvals are secured in line with programme requirements.
  • You’ll be working closely with internal departments and external partners, playing a vital role in driving projects forward and overcoming planning challenges.
  • This role would suit someone who is organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple live sites within a fast-moving environment.

Key Duties

  • Oversee planning activities across a portfolio of residential developments from pre-application through to approval.
  • Prepare and submit planning applications, including amendments and reserved matters.
  • Engage with local authorities, consultants, architects and other stakeholders to progress applications.
  • Manage planning conditions, S106 agreements and discharge requirements.
  • Provide planning guidance to internal teams including land, technical, commercial and construction.
  • Attend project meetings, design reviews and planning discussions.
  • Identify potential risks within the planning process and implement solutions.
  • Assist in developing planning strategies, timelines and internal reporting.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation within company systems.
  • Stay informed on planning policy updates and legislative changes.

About You

  • Previous experience in a planning role within housing or residential development, or council background.
  • Solid understanding of UK planning policy and procedures.
  • Experience handling planning applications across multiple sites.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Well organised, with the ability to prioritise and manage competing deadlines.
  • A solutions-driven mindset with strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and relevant planning systems.
