Office-Based (with Site Visits) GBP43,500 + Company Van + Phone + Tablet Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm. Career-Bridge Recruitment are working with a well-established and growing contractor in the South West to appoint a Contracts Manager within their domestic plumbing and heating division. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking business where you will take full ownership of projects from initial enquiry through to completion, working within a supportive team and managing multiple live sites.
The Role
You will be responsible for overseeing projects from start to finish, ensuring high standards, smooth delivery, and strong client relationships throughout. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing projects from initial client enquiry through to completion
- Carrying out site surveys and reviewing specifications and drawings
- Pricing and submitting tenders within required timeframes
- Procuring materials once projects are secured
- Scheduling works and coordinating engineers on-site
- Clearly communicating project requirements to site teams
- Conducting quality control checks across projects
- Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction
- Raising invoices and managing aftercare queries
You will typically manage:
- 1 to 2 new build sites at any one time
- 3 to 4 projects concurrently, including boiler replacements, smaller works, extensions, and reactive projects
Additional duties may include:
- Attending site and client meetings
- Pricing works from drawings and plans
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Producing RAMS where required
This role is focused on coordination, oversight, and quality control, working with a team of experienced and largely self-sufficient engineers.
About You
We are looking for a well-rounded professional who understands both the technical and commercial aspects of plumbing and heating projects.
- Proven experience in plumbing and heating (including gas) essential
- Estimating and/or project management experience desirable
- GasSafe certification advantageous
- OFTEC advantageous
- City & Guilds qualification preferred
- Full UK Driving Licence essential
