We’re working with a design-led engineering consultancy that has secured a strong pipeline of long-term water sector work across Wales and the wider UK. With significant investment planned by UK Water Authorities over the coming regulatory period and beyond, they’re expanding their Bristol and Cardiff teams. They’re looking for a Civil Engineer with around 3+ years’ experience in the water sector who wants more than just drawing production. This is a role for someone who wants exposure, responsibility, and genuine progression.
You’ll work within a close-knit team, supported by senior engineers, contributing to the delivery of civil engineering design across a wide range of water infrastructure projects. Expect variety. Expect technical challenge. Expect to learn quickly.
The Work Projects include:
- New and replacement potable water mains
- Foul drainage and CSO remediation schemes
- Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS)
- Conventional surface water drainage design
You’ll be involved from early-stage design through to detailed delivery, supporting approvals, coordinating with stakeholders, and building the technical depth needed to progress your career.
What They’re Looking For:
- 3+ years’ experience in the water industry
- Experience in potable, surface, or foul water design and/or construction
- Civil Engineering degree (Masters advantageous)
- Working towards (or willing to work towards) professional qualification (ICE / CIWEM)
- Familiarity with drainage design software such as MicroDrainage or InfoDrainage
- Exposure to S104 / S106 processes and SuDS approvals
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Clear communication skills and a proactive mindset
