Location: Office-based
Hours: Monday–Thursday 8:00am–5:00pm | Friday 8:00am–4:00pm
Contract: Temporary, with potential for ongoing work
We are currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join an established construction company on a temporary basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous Accounts Payable experience who is looking to join a busy finance team and secure the potential for ongoing work.
Working as part of the accounts team, you will support the day-to-day financial administration of the business, with a particular focus on Accounts Payable.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Processing supplier invoices accurately and efficiently
- Matching invoices to purchase orders and delivery documentation
- Checking and resolving invoice discrepancies
- Preparing and processing supplier payments
- Assisting with supplier statement reconciliations
- Responding to supplier queries
- Maintaining accurate financial records
- Supporting the wider accounts team with general finance administration
- Ensuring invoices and payments are processed within agreed timescales
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or Accounts Payable role
- Good understanding of the purchase ledger/accounts payable process
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel xgikmsk
- Experience within the construction sector would be advantageous but is not essential
- A proactive and reliable approach to work
