Data is at the heart of player, product, and business insights on our titles. This critical role will build and grow the foundation for our studio in insights about our players and our business. The role will report to the Vice President of Data, Analytics & Insights (DAI). The person in this role is most successful when they can convert data into clear, impactful insights that improve the studio and player experience while helping to grow a team of amazing analysts to learn and succeed. The Director of Analytics will lead and grow a team of analysts to deliver insights, learnings and guidance and significantly impact the direction of our game and overall business. Collaborate with internal and external teams and stakeholders to define and deliver insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead analytics strategies & systems to support the studio, game development & operations.
- Lead a team of analysts & data engineers in the collection, analysis, & interpretation of game data.
- Drive deep, impactful learnings working across data, game design & research to deliver data driven decision making that has meaningful impact.
- Closely monitor business performance to identify risks, new opportunities, & industry trends.
- Acting as a first alert to risks & opportunities.
- Guide timely analytic deep dives of critical business issues that impact performance & translate the analyses into action cross-team.
- Use data & insight to enable & guide product roadmaps with development teams.
- Grow & develop your team in technical, interpersonal & career skill sets.
- Build a team culture that breaks down barriers, builds bridges & challenges convention with a theme of collaboration.
- Foster & grow a data informed learning culture on the team & across the studio.
- Partner with leadership to establish & prioritize the highest value work for the business.
- Ensure data quality, accuracy, & integrity.
Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience in quantitative analysis, within a gaming, entertainment, or digital consumer products organization.
- 5+ years’ experience managing people, growing skillsets & coaching.
- Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, related discipline or equivalent work experience.
- Experience Delivering & coaching analytical presentations to large groups & senior management.
- Be product focused, you will be expected to play & know the games we make.
- Demonstratable critical thinker who can make & communicate decisions clearly.
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms like AWS, Azure or GCP.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Looker, Power BI) with a strong ability to create visually compelling & informative dashboards & reports.
- Strong understanding of data engineering & data warehousing concepts.
- Excellent delivery management skills to build & deliver plans with clearly defined timelines, ownership, & risks.
- Strong verbal & written communication skills & the ability to adjust your approach to match the audience.
- Experience in the games industry is a very strong desire.
