As the Product Manager you will report to the Head of Product Management and manage the assigned product portfolio throughout the whole product life cycle, being the first point of reference and defining, implementing and monitoring the product portfolio strategy. You will drive the growth of the portfolio and ensure its competitiveness and act as the integrator by balancing market pull and tech push, bridging Sales with R&D and integrating the service transformation.
Responsibilities
- Define and implement the product portfolio strategy, managing products across the entire lifecycle and their performance.
- Monitor and analyze global markets, trends, competitors, technologies, and services to ensure portfolio competitiveness.
- Generate, evaluate, and prioritize business ideas, and develop holistic, market-oriented business plans, including USP and positioning.
- Lead the M2M (market-to-market) process for the assigned portfolio, including requirement definition, marketing mix (4Ps), market tests, and internal/external product launches.
- Coordinate marketing activities, define market launch concepts and campaigns in cooperation with the communications department, markets segments, and regions.
- Drive internal efficiency by fostering standardization, balancing market pull and tech push and proactively managing product phase-outs.
- Collaborate proactively with internal and external stakeholders across regions and the matrix organization, leading effective product management along the full value chain (Equipment, Automation, Services, Digital Solutions) and integrating Bühler's service and digital transformation into the assigned product portfolio.
- Define training content and support internal and external training.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or Business Administration; further education or focus on product management is ideal.
- Solid and extensive proven professional experience in product management within the capital goods industry.
- Industry and technology knowledge in food and agricultural processing, recycling, and waste management.
- Proven ability to independently manage a product portfolio across its full lifecycle, from strategy to execution.
- Strong market and customer focus, including trend analysis, competitive benchmarking, identification of growth opportunities, and definition of market-oriented USPs and winning strategies.
- Solid strategic marketing skills, including business plan and marketing strategy development, as well as knowledge of strategic pricing and value selling ("capturing the value").
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a matrix organization, with strong presentation, negotiation, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities; ability to perform in complex, ambiguous, and intercultural environments, including up to 20% international travel.
- Fluent in English.

- Direct experience with optical sorting, sensor-based sorting, or industrial inspection systems.
- Experience leading and managing development projects effectively within matrix organisations.
