An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the ‘Life on the Edge’ project as a Pollinator Plan Officer. This position is hosted by South Devon National Landscape.

Hours: Full-time (37 hours)
Contract Type: Fixed term until March 2029
Salary: £33,143 – £36,363 per annum (Pay award pending)
Location: Follaton House, Plymouth Road, Totnes

We are searching for a skilled and experienced facilitator to energise community conservation across the Life on the Edge project area; co-creating Pollinator Plans, empowering and upskilling groups and individuals in the shared purpose of making a difference for South Devon pollinators. Life on the Edge aims to restore species-rich grasslands, improving people’s health, wellbeing and nature-connectedness.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on connecting local communities with nature through the creation of Pollinator Plans, supported by a small grants scheme.
  • Develop and mobilise community engagement plans for each parish, identifying actions and budgets for delivery.
  • Identify and engage relevant local stakeholders (special interest groups, parish councils, community groups) to create a collaborative plan of action.
  • Support the 5-year Project Delivery Phase until March 2029 by providing expertise in pollinator conservation and community mobilisation.

This role offers the chance to work in one of the UK’s finest coastal landscapes, including Special Areas of Conservation, National Nature Reserves, Sites of Special Scientific Interest and the South West Coast Path National Trail.
