Buffalo Rock is an award-winning Pepsi-Cola Bottler founded in Birmingham, AL, more than 100 years ago. The Vertique Level 1 positions are responsible for ensuring the timely and correct replenishment of product into the system as well as reworking damaged cases back into inventory.
Essential functions:
- Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position.
- This position will be responsible for the movement of product from pallets to conveyor lines within an assigned portion of the towers within the automated Vertique system.
- Moving empty pallets to designated areas for removal from the towers.
- Removal and proper disposal of damaged cases.
- Reworking good product to be placed back into inventory.
- Cleaning of assigned work area.
- Keep all assigned conveyor lanes full, with correct product, as dictated by lighting system.
- Communicate with replenishers and system operators via radio throughout shift on status of system in assigned work area.
- Identify need and assist other tower areas when appropriate.
- Sort and dispose of damaged items.
- Repack good product and stage to be placed back into inventory.
- Track all damaged items to be removed from inventory.
- Move bins in and out of work areas as needed or filled.
- Area must be clean and organized at all times.
- Maintaining cleanliness of equipment and building.
- Make sound decisions and multitask simultaneously without constant supervision.
- Required to follow the Good Manufacturing Program (GMPs) as listed in Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 21 section 110.
- Participation in various Food Safety related training that Buffalo Rock utilizes.
- Report potential issues related to Food Safety.
- Responsible for continuous self-improvement through the knowledge and use of all Buffalo Rock provided training.
- Must successfully complete assigned training curriculum.
- Other assigned duties as needed.

Work environment: Working conditions will require both inside warehouse needs and outside pallet/tray production support. Temperature conditions will vary from extreme heat to extreme cold.

- Push/Pull: 12 lbs. or less F, 13-25 lbs. O, 26-40 lbs. O, 41-100 lbs. O
All tasks within the warehouse are physically demanding and labor-intensive. Employees within this role are required to:
- Lift product up to 30 pounds on a repetitive basis per shift and up to 50 pounds intermittently throughout shift.
- Periodic lifting above shoulder height.
- Move and stack pallets weighing up to 65 pounds throughout shift.
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, reach and climb up and down stairs throughout shift.
- Vision: Must be able to distinguish between red, green, and “off” lights.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and warm environment, especially during summer months.
- Hearing is required for the total workday.
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): vest, slip resistant shoes, gloves, hair net, eye protection, earplugs.
Position requires physical presence within Vertique system at the Central Hub.
Required education and experience:
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Preferred.
- Be able to read product packaging and communicate in English via radio.
