The Plant Maintenance Electrician position is a key member of the Corporate Maintenance Team. The primary duty of the position is to provide support by repairing and maintaining machinery and electrical equipment.
Essential functions:
- Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Position is required to work all hours necessary to ensure operations function is fulfilled, including nights, weekends, holidays.
- Advanced ability in the repair and maintenance of machinery, plumbing, physical structure and electrical wiring.
- Highly skilled at troubleshooting using appropriate testing devices.
- Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment, such as motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment, using hand tools, power tools, and precision-measuring and testing instruments.
- Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
- Able to run conduit, pull wire, and terminate connections for equipment.
- Able to perform work at height with proper fall protection PPE.
- Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, hand tools, and power tools.
- Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
- Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments, using hand tools, level, plum bobs, and straightedges.
- Repairs or replaces functional and structural parts in devices, using hand tools.
- Starts devices to test their performance.
- Lubricates and cleans parts.
- May initiate purchase requests for parts and machines.
- Observe operation of equipment to determine if problems with equipment or operator.
- Required to complete other activities assigned by supervisor.
- Required to follow the Good Manufacturing Program (GMPs) as listed in Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 21 section 110.
- Requires participation in various Food Safety related training that Buffalo Rock utilizes.
- Required to report potential issues related to Food Safety.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Must exhibit a high level of ethical and moral conduct while at work or in attendance of any off-site function during work hours or after work hours while representing the Buffalo Rock Company.
- Responsible for continuous self-improvement through the knowledge and use of all Buffalo Rock provided training, either web-based, in-house, or any other provided method.
- Must successfully complete assigned training curriculum, including but not limited to online and/or facilitated training.
