Role: Forklift Operator – Replenishment. This position primarily operates a sit‑down forklift and is responsible for stocking the sourcing/picking locations of the Vertique Towers (HQS/SAW lanes) with products from the back‑stock locations and ensuring the continuous flow of products from the towers.

Essential Functions

  • Regular and timely attendance is essential – position required to work all hours necessary to ensure operations functionality, including nights, weekends, holidays.
  • Perform pre‑trip inspection on all power equipment used through InfoLink system.
  • Operate a sit‑down forklift ensuring the safe and efficient movement of products.
  • Follow all driving rules and be aware of surroundings.
  • Report any equipment malfunction and accidents/incidents to a member of the management team.
  • Identify and source products from back‑stock locations utilizing electronic devices (tablets, cell phones and RF scanners) to process the move transactions.
  • Rotate stock, following Location Based Inventory (LBI) process to ensure proper product rotation according to FEFO method.
  • Move the correct product from back‑stock locations to the Vertique Towers picking locations in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with Lead/Supervisor, warehouse pickers, and system operators via radio throughout shift about the assigned lanes status regarding product needs, empty pallets, and damages collection.
  • Identify needs and assist other areas when appropriate.
  • Collect and move empty pallets to the designated areas and sort and organize them by type.
  • Collect and move damaged product to the recycling area.
  • Use proper lifting techniques to avoid injuries and follow the BRC safety practices.
  • Make sound decisions and multitask simultaneously without constant supervision.
  • Adhere to the standard operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Required to follow the Good Manufacturing Program GMPS as listed in Code of Federal Regulations CFR 21 section 110.
  • Requires participation in various Food Safety related training that Buffalo Rock utilizes.
  • Required to report potential issues related to Food Safety.
  • Other assigned duties as needed.

Work Environment

Working conditions will require both inside warehouse needs and outside. Temperature conditions will vary from extreme heat to extreme cold.

Physical Demands

  • Lift/Carry: Stand, walk, sit, manually manipulate, grasp, reach above shoulder, speak, climb – various frequencies.
  • Ability to lift product up to 30 lbs on a repetitive basis and up to 50 lbs intermittently.
  • Move and stack pallets weighing up to 65 lbs throughout shift.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and warm environment, especially during summer months.
  • Hearing required for the total workday.
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – high visibility shirt or safety vest, slip resistant shoes and safety glasses.
  • Portion of role requires physical presence within Vertique system at the Central Hub.

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Preferred.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in warehouse environment: Required.
  • At least one (1) year of experience operating a forklift: Required.
  • Prior experience utilizing RF scanners and Warehouse Management Systems: Preferred.
  • Must be able to read product packaging and communicate in English via radio.
  • Must be able to pass forklift certification.
  • Ability to perform basic math and use Warehouse Management Systems.
