Buffalo Rock Company is an award-winning Pepsi and Keurig Dr Pepper bottler founded in Birmingham, AL, with a history of more than 123 years. The Forklift Operator Replenishment will primarily operate a sit-down forklift and stock sourcing/picking locations of the Vertique Towers (HQS/SAW lanes) with products from backstock locations, ensuring the continuous flow of products from the towers.

Essential Functions

• Regular and timely attendance is essential. Must work all hours necessary to fulfill operations, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Perform pre-trip inspection on all power equipment used through the InfoLink system.
• Operate a sit-down forklift to move products safely and efficiently.
• Follow driving rules and stay aware of surroundings.
• Report equipment malfunctions and accidents/incidents to a member of management.
• Identify and source products from backstock locations using electronic devices (tablets, cell phones, RF scanners) to process move transactions.
• Rotate stock according to FEFO via Location Base Inventory (LBI) process.
• Move correct product from backstock to Vertique Towers picking locations promptly.
• Handle packaged product properly to prevent damage.
• Communicate with Lead/Supervisor, warehouse pickers, and system operators via radio about lane status, needs, and damages.
• Identify needs and assist other areas when appropriate.
• Collect and move empty pallets; sort and organize by type.
• Collect and move damaged product to recycling area.
• Maintain clean equipment and work area; mop spills as needed to keep floors clean and dry.
• Use proper lifting techniques and follow safety practices (GMPs and BRC safety).
• Make sound decisions and multitask with minimal supervision.
• Adhere to standard operating procedures and work instructions.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Program (GMPs) as listed in CFR 21 section 110; participate in Food Safety training and report potential food safety issues.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience: At least 1 year in a warehouse environment; at least 1 year operating a forklift; RF scanners and Warehouse Management Systems experience preferred.
• Skills: Read product packaging, communicate in English via radio; pass forklift certification; basic math and WMS proficiency.

Work environment

Work inside a warehouse and outside; temperatures vary from extreme heat to extreme cold.

Physical Demands

• Lift/carry up to 30 pounds repetitively and up to 50 pounds intermittently.
• Move and stack pallets up to 65 pounds.
• Vision: near, distance, color, peripheral, depth; hearing required.
• Work in fast-paced and warm environments, especially in summer.
• Wear PPE: high-visibility shirt or safety vest, slip-resistant shoes, safety glasses.
• Position requires presence within the Vertique system at the Central Hub.
