Warehouse Picker 2- Central Hub (7am-3:30pm) in Birmingham

Warehouse Picker 2 is responsible for performing all Warehouse Picker 1 job functions and must ensure accurate and timely completion of work, maintaining a continuous flow into the assigned Vertique System lanes with little to no interruption following best practices, including recycling.

• Regular and timely attendance is essential. Position is required to work all hours necessary to ensure operations function fulfillment, including nights, weekends, holidays.
• Source all assigned conveyor lanes and move products from the picking location (pallets) onto the conveyors.
• Follow the Vertique System TV monitor to select orders with the correct product, quantity, and sequence.
• Ensure only products in good condition are loaded onto the conveyor lanes and keep the conveyor rollers free of plastic or cardboard debris.
• Properly handle packaged product, preventing any damage to the product.
• Follow lighting System priorities and maintain the discharge conveyor lamps in GREEN.
• Perform sequence checks at the lanes and doghouses and fix the lanes as needed promptly.
• Communicate with Lead/Supervisor, forklift operators and system operators via radio throughout shift about lane status regarding product needs, product jams, clear false discharges, empty pallets, and damages collection.
• Identify needs and assist other areas when appropriate.
• Pull empty pallets, damaged product, and shrink wrap out of the pick areas and move to collection areas.
• Bail cardboard and plastic waste from the operational process using compactors.
• Recycle operations – Sort and dispose of damaged items in the respective recycle bins, segregating packing materials accordingly.
• Register all damaged items to be removed from inventory in the damaged logs.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and building. Keep areas clean and organized, sweep and clean all trash, pallet pieces, and debris. Mop spill areas as needed.
• Use proper lifting techniques to avoid injuries and follow BRC safety practices.
• Make sound decisions and multitask simultaneously without constant supervision.
• Adhere to standard operating procedures.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Program GMPs as listed in CFR 21 section 110. Participate in Food Safety related training. Report potential Food Safety issues.
• Other assigned duties as needed.

• All tasks within the warehouse are physically demanding and labor‑intensive. Employees must lift product up to 30 pounds on a repetitive basis per shift and up to 50 pounds intermittently throughout the shift.
• Periodic lifting above shoulder height.
• Move and stack pallets weighing up to 65 pounds throughout shift.
• Stand, walk, stoop, reach and climb up and down stairs throughout shift.
• Vision: near, distance, color, peripheral, depth. Must distinguish between red, green, and ‘off’ lights.
• Work in a fast‑paced and warm environment, especially during summer months.
• Hearing required for total workday.
• Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – high visibility shirt or safety vest, slip‑resistant shoes, mask, eye protection.
• Position requires physical presence within Vertique system at the Central Hub.

• Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) – Preferred.
• Experience: At least one (1) year of work experience in a similar role.
• Skills: Must be able to read product packaging and communicate in English via radio.
