Job Description Summary / Objective
Buffalo Rock is an award-winning Pepsi and Keurig Dr Pepper bottler founded in Birmingham, AL more than 123 years ago. Buffalo Rock manages the best beverage portfolio in the country, which includes several beloved global and regional brands. The Warehouse Picker 1 is responsible for ensuring the timely and correct replenishment of product into the Vertique system towers following best practices, including recycling of damaged cases of product. Essential Functions
- Regular and timely attendance is essential. Position must work all hours necessary to ensure operations function, including nights, weekends, holidays.
- Fill the discharge conveyors of one cell tower with thirty lanes.
- Keep all assigned conveyor lanes full, with correct product, as dictated by the lighting system.
- Load into discharge conveyors only good condition product and keep the conveyor rollers free of plastic or cardboard debris.
- Maintain discharge conveyor lamps on “GREEN” following lighting system priorities; chase the “RED” light.
- Keep assigned lanes running free of jams.
- Pull empty pallets, damaged product, and shrink wrap out of pick areas and move to collection areas.
- Communicate with forklift operators and system operators via radio throughout shift on status of tower lanes (product needs, product jams, clear false discharges, empty pallet collection, damage product collection).
- Identify need and assist other tower areas when appropriate.
- Recycle operations – sort and dispose of damaged items in the respective recycle bins.
- Register all damaged items to be removed from inventory in the damaged logs.
- Sanitation – maintain cleanliness of equipment and building. Areas must be clean, organized, swept, trash dumped, mop as needed, keep floors dry.
- Proper handling of packaging products, no rough handling.
- Use proper lifting techniques to avoid injuries and follow Central HUB safety guidelines.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Program GMPs (CFR 21 §110) and complete food safety training; report potential food safety issues.
- Other assigned duties as needed.

Other Physical Requirements
All tasks are physically demanding and labor‑intensive. Lift product up to 30 lbs repeatedly per shift and up to 50 lbs intermittently. Periodic lifting above shoulder height. Move and stack pallets up to 65 lbs during shift. Stand, walk, stoop, reach, and climb stairs throughout shift. Vision: near, distance, colour, peripheral, depth; distinguish red, green, and off lights. Work in fast‑paced, warm environment (especially summer). Hearing required for total workday. Wear PPE – high visibility shirt or vest, slip‑resistant shoes, mask, eye protection. Position requires physical presence within Vertique system at Central Hub.
Required Education and Experience
High School Graduate or GED (Preferred). Ability to read product packaging and communicate in English via radio.
