The Plant Maintenance Electrician position is a key member of the Corporate Maintenance Team. The primary duty of the position is to provide support by repairing and maintaining machinery and electrical equipment.
Essential functions:
- Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Position is required to work all hours necessary to ensure operations function is fulfilled, including nights, weekends, holidays.
- Advanced ability in the repair and maintenance of machinery, plumbing, physical structure and electrical wiring.
- Highly skilled at troubleshooting using appropriate testing devices.
- Repairs and maintains, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment, such as motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment, using hand tools, power tools, and precision-measuring and testing instruments.
- Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
- Able to run conduit, pull wire, and terminate connections for equipment.
- Able to perform work at height with proper fall protection PPE.
- Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, hand tools, and power tools.
- Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
- Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments, using hand tools, level, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
- Repairs or replaces functional and structural parts in devices, using hand tools.
- Starts devices to test their performance.
- Lubricates and cleans parts.
- May initiate purchase requests for parts and machines.
- Observe operation of equipment to determine if problems with equipment or operator.
- Required to complete other activities assigned by supervisor.
- Required to follow the Good Manufacturing Program (GMPs) as listed in Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 21 section 110.
- Requires participation in various Food Safety related training that Buffalo Rock utilizes.
- Required to report potential issues related to Food Safety.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Must exhibit a high level of ethical and moral conduct while at work or in attendance of any off-site function during work hours or after work hours while representing the Buffalo Rock Company.
- Responsible for continuous self-improvement through the knowledge and use of all Buffalo Rock provided training, either web-based, in-house, or any other provided method.
- Must successfully complete assigned training curriculum, including but not limited to online and/or facilitated training.

Required education and experience:
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Preferred
- At least three (3) Years of Manufacturing Maintenance Experience: Required
- At least one (1) year of Industrial Electrician Experience: Required
- PLC Experience: Preferred
