The General Sanitation Central Hub is responsible for the cleanliness of the Central Hub Distribution areas, ensuring designated areas are audit-ready at all times. The General Warehouse Sanitation must be able to cross-train and perform Sanitation Technician duties.
Essential functions:- Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Position is required to work all hours necessary to ensure operations function is fulfilled, including nights, weekends, holidays.
- Required to clean the operational areas of the Central Hub Distribution Center, including the interior and exterior areas of the building on a daily basis.
- Complete daily assignments in compliance with the Warehouse Master Cleaning Schedule.
- Sweep and mop all assigned areas, keeping the work area clean and free of debris.
- Wipe down yellow/red barriers, yellow poles, support poles, stairs handrails, and pole protection barriers using cleaning solution.
- Pull empty pallets, damaged product and shrink wrap out of the pick areas and move to collection areas.
- Clean and wipe down water refrigerators across the operational areas.
- Use high pressure water hoses and squeegees to clean the floors.
- Remove and dump trash from trash cans and roll dumpsters.
- Wash trash cans and roll dumpster periodically and as needed.
- Recycle operations – Sort and dispose of damaged items in the respective recycle bins.
- Move bins in and out of work areas as needed or filled.
- Bail the cardboard and plastic waste from the operational process using the compactors.
- Clean the docks doors including sweep and mop dock plates, wipe down doors and clean cobwebs.
- Must keep all sanitation supplies in their proper place and notify Shift Lead Sanitation when running low.
- Must be able to run a Tenant Scrubber, as designed by manufacturer, utilizing the Infolink computer system.
- Must scrub all assigned areas daily.
- Communicate with Lead/Supervisor throughout shift about the assigned tasks and any issues.
- Identify needs and assist other areas when appropriate.
- Adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOP) and work instructions.
- Use proper lifting techniques to avoid injuries and follow the BRC safety practices.
- Make sound decisions and multitask simultaneously without constant supervision.
- Required to follow the Good Manufacturing Program GMPs as listed in Code of Federal Regulations CFR 21 section 110.
- Requires participation in various Food Safety related training that Buffalo Rock utilizes.
- Required to report potential issues related to Food Safety.
- Clean other equipment as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must exhibit a high level of ethical and moral conduct while at work or in attendance of any off-site function during work hours or after work hours while representing the Buffalo Rock Company.
- Responsible for continuous self-improvement through the knowledge and use of all Buffalo Rock provided training, either web-based, in-house, or any other provided method.
- Must successfully complete assigned training curriculum, including but not limited to online and/or facilitated training.

Working conditions will require both inside warehouse needs and outside. Temperature conditions will vary from extreme heat to extreme cold.
Physical Demands:- Must be able to move up and down steps to gain access to cleaning areas.
- Must be able to bend under machinery and conveyors to clean, sweep, and mop.
- Lift product up to 30 pounds on a repetitive basis per shift and up to 50 pounds intermittently throughout shift.
- Periodic lifting above shoulder height.
- Move and stack pallets weighing up to 65 pounds throughout shift.
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, reach and climb up and down stairs throughout shift.
- Vision (Near, Distance, Color, Peripheral, Depth). Must be able to distinguish between red, green, and “off” lights.
- Ability to work in a fast paced and warm environment, especially during summer months.
- Sense of Sound - Hearing is required for the total workday.
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – high visibility shirt or safety vest, slip resistant shoes, mask, eye protection, etc.
- Position requires physical presence within Vertique system at the Central Hub.
- Must be able to read product packaging and communicate in English.
- Ability to learn how and successfully operate Tenant Scrubber.
