Lead/Advanced Buyer (Sourcing Specialist)

The Ideal Candidate
- Technically and commercially astute
- Excellent communication skills verbally and written, inside and outside the organisation
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and AI tools
- Ability to work independently and within the team
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Can deal with RFQs in a timely manner and collate tenders for the sales team
- Provide solutions through knowledge of industry and supply chain
- Work closely with Quality, Sales and Operations to support new product introduction sourcing activities
- Deliver cost reduction activities through global sourcing and alternative materials (in collaboration with Quality and Sales)
- Identify risks in the supply chain (single sourcing, capacity constraints, raw material market volatility) and implement mitigation strategies
- Support customer and certification audits (ISO 9001 and EN 9120)
- Work with local and global suppliers to deliver project sourcing
- Participate in the negotiation of supply agreements
- Maintain and develop supplier relationships and drive sustainability initiative
- Knowledge of MOD and Aerospace specifications
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Qualifications
- Engineering Degree or similar
- Knowledge of Fasteners and C-Parts
