This role will be within the Europe service department of ITW Test & Measurement GmbH, headquartered in Germany, and is responsible for the support of all customers in Europe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance required on Buehler metallographic and hardness testing product lines – for example, disassembling, replacing, or repairing defective parts; reassembling as required; troubleshooting, adjusting/calibrating ready for use by using standard and/or specialized tools by using technical manuals.
  • The scope of work will be 70% on the customer site and 30% in the repair service area.
  • Develop and maintain effective, communicative relationships with customers, managers.
  • Communicate activities to customers including scheduling of Preventive Maintenance and estimated time of arrival for unscheduled work.
  • Utilize provided product and industry knowledge to assure customer’s expectations of service are exceeded.
  • Respond to routine customer and sales questions regarding equipment operation and performance or direct questions straight to technical sales teams.
  • Maintain courteous, smart and professional demeanour when working with customers, contractors, management and colleagues.
  • Utilize customer protocols when entering and exiting facilities.
  • Follow all Buehler and Customer Health & Safety protocols and procedures.

General Responsibilities

  • Complete all necessary paperwork electronically.
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety guidelines to ensure personal and team safety.
  • Effectively manage time on jobs to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Communicate job progression with service team.
  • Share best practices and knowledge with other team members.
  • Report to Line Manager.

Your Profile

  • Technical training in the field of mechatronics / electrical engineering or several years of vocational training in a similar activity.
  • Mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge.
  • You are experienced in working with ERP systems and MS Office programs.
  • You are used to working independently and goal-oriented and like to visit the customer on site.
  • Technical aptitude and logical problem-solving skills.
  • Enthusiastic, adaptable, and ready for a challenge.
  • Able to plan and work independently.
  • Competent communicator, willing to liaise with staff and clients.
  • Full UK driving licence.
