Buehler is one of the world's leading suppliers of scientific equipment, accessories, and consumables for materials preparation and analysis and hardness testing. This role will be within the Europe service department of ITW Test & Measurement GmbH, headquartered in Germany, and is responsible for the support of all customers in Europe.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance required on Buehler metallographic and hardness testing product lines – for example, disassembling, replacing, or repairing defective parts; reassembling as required; troubleshooting, adjusting/calibrating ready for use by using standard and/or specialized tools by using technical manuals.
- The scope of work will be 70% on the customer site and 30% in the repair service area.
- Develop and maintain effective, communicative relationships with customers and managers.
- Communicate activities to customers including scheduling of Preventive Maintenance and estimated time of arrival for unscheduled work.
- Utilize provided product and industry knowledge to assure customer’s expectations of service are exceeded.
- Respond to routine customer and sales questions regarding equipment operation and performance or direct questions straight to technical sales teams.
- Maintain courteous, smart and professional demeanor when working with customers, contractors, management and colleagues.
- Utilize customer protocols when entering and exiting facilities.
- Follow all Buehler and Customer Health & Safety protocols and procedures.
General Responsibilities
- Complete all necessary paperwork electronically.
- Adhere to all Health and Safety guidelines to ensure personal and team safety.
- Effectively manage time on jobs to ensure maximum efficiency.
- Communicate job progression with service team.
- Share best practices and knowledge with other team members.
- Report to Line Manager.
Your Profile
- Technical training in the field of mechatronics / electrical engineering or several years of vocational training in a similar activity.
- Mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge.
- You are experienced in working with ERP systems and MS Office programs.
- You are used to working independently and goal-oriented and like to visit the customer on site.
- Technical aptitude and logical problem-solving skills.
- Enthusiastic, adaptable, and ready for a challenge.
- Able to plan and work independently.
- Competent communicator, willing to liaise with staff and clients.
- Full UK driving licence.
