Who we are: Budwood, part of Polaris Community, is a local business providing Residential Care and Support to children and young people with emotional behavioural difficulties and social/emotional mental health. The aim of the service is to provide a stable comfortable home, high levels of support and guidance for safety and skill development to enable successful transition to independence and adulthood.

Main Duties and Requirements:

  • Experience of working with children and young people and understanding of the issues that face young people in care.
  • Ability to work a 3-week rolling rota comprising 7 × 24-hour shifts (09:00–09:30 the following day), including sleep‑ins, with 1 weekend off in every 3.
  • Promote, safeguard and protect the welfare of our young people.
  • Establish and maintain positive and trusting relationships with our young people.
  • Work well as part of a team and accept direction and guidance.
  • Encourage the development of the individual interests of our young people.
  • Hold a Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma/Children and Young People's Workforce/NVQ Level 3 in Health.
