These shift-based roles report to the Packaging First Line Manager ("FLM"). You will be part of a multi-skilled team, responsible for undertaking daily, weekly and monthly activities to ensure the Packaging Department meets KPI requirements for Safety, Quality, Hygiene, Service and Cost – behaviours through agreed ways of working.
Responsibilities
- Consistent execution of routine tasks daily, weekly and monthly within agreed ways of working.
- Work with attention to detail to agreed timescales.
- Work as part of a flexible team.
- Perform duties from start to end of Packaging Operations, including raw materials, from Bright Beer Tank to final packaged product.
- Comply with all Statutory & Legal requirements.
- Comply with all Safety, Health & Environment requirements.
- Comply with all appropriate packaging or food hygiene safety regulations such as HACCP.
- Comply with all Product & Process Quality requirements.
- Comply with all Housekeeping, Cleaning & 5S requirements.
- Comply with autonomous maintenance routine.
- Undertake required quality control checks to release products.
- Operate Packaging Equipment to ensure the department delivers finished goods of the right quality, at the right time and at the right cost to the logistics department.
- Utilise VPO to undertake improvement activities to meet all KPI targets, such as Short Interval Control (SIC).
- Undertake training and create/update documentation for new skills & tasks within Packaging Department in line with PDPs to up-skill those with fewer skills.
- Undertake any packaging related tasks directed by the First Line Manager.
- Attend meetings & briefings as necessary.
- Comply with all documentation and transactions required to operate and improve performance in the department.
- Ensure that all internal customer requirements are met.
For successful candidates, all operational training required for the role will be provided.
Qualifications
- General Certificate of Secondary Education ("GCSE") Maths and English, or equivalent.
- Packaging or Engineering based qualification an advantage.
- Packaging and or Engineering experience an advantage.
- Fork Lift Truck License where appropriate (Keg Palletiser).
- IT Literacy.
- Effective team player, with the ability to coordinate and communicate within teams.
- Experience in high efficiency FMCG packaging/engineering environment.
- Demonstrated experience in operating within a quality focused food environment.
