Primary purpose and function of position
Reporting to the First Line Manager, you will play a key role within a high‑performing engineering team supporting a fast‑paced Automated Storage & Retrieval System (ASRS). This is a hands‑on engineering role focused on fault finding, problem solving, and driving equipment reliability in a demanding FMCG environment. You will take ownership of issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable improvements to maximise system performance. The role is ideal for an ambitious, proactive engineer who takes ownership, learns quickly, and is motivated to progress into a leadership position.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
You will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance across the ASRS as part of a multi‑skilled engineering team.
Accountabilities:
- Carry out planned and reactive electrical and mechanical maintenance across the ASRS system
- Diagnose and resolve complex electrical and mechanical faults in a high‑pressure environment
- Take full ownership of breakdowns from initial fault through to permanent resolution
- Analyse equipment performance data to identify and eliminate recurring issues
- Identify and deliver continuous improvement initiatives to improve system reliability and performance
- Challenge existing practices and drive improvements to engineering and operational standards
- Develop and improve SOPs, SWIs, and maintenance procedures
- Work closely with OEMs and contractors to resolve technical issues and manage spares
- Record maintenance activity accurately within SAP/CMMS systems
- Support and uphold safety, quality, and performance standards at all times
- Contribute to a high‑performing team culture built on accountability and ownership
- Work at height where required
Key Skills, Knowledge and Competencies
- Strong electrical fault finding and diagnostic skills
- Ability to troubleshoot automated systems in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment
- Structured, logical problem‑solving approach with a focus on root cause and long‑term fixes
- Demonstrates ownership and accountability for equipment performance and fault resolution
