About the role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Finance Manager will play a critical role within the finance function, leading a small team, ensuring that best practice financial reporting is in place, that company assets are safeguarded and that the company is operating on a tax compliant basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monthly financial reporting
  • Ensuring the company is tax compliant and all returns are submitted accurately and on time
  • Ensuring the company is industry compliant and all returns are submitted accurately and on time
  • Preparation of year-end audit files
  • Liaison with internal and external auditors
  • Treasury, cash-flow forecasts/planning
  • Responsibility for payroll review and sign off
  • FP&A / Commercial
  • Managing & reporting of key business metrics
  • Working closely with the Head of Finance on the preparation of cost/ benefit analysis on new initiatives
  • Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Analysis of all overheads
  • Ad-hoc project work will be ongoing

Systems & Controls

  • Evaluate and implement effective controls to ensure that they are adequate to protect the assets, profitability and cash flow
  • Support the business teams through implementation, monitoring and ongoing improvement of the Finance system processes to meet business needs in an efficient and effective manner

Leadership

  • Managing finance team in daily operations
  • Working closely with business leaders and other departments on an ongoing basis

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent) with a minimum of five years of post-qualification experience. While knowledge of the energy industry is desirable, it is not essential. They excel in managing and coaching direct reports, and possess excellent IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems. The candidate has strong communication skills and demonstrates the ability to take ownership and responsibility for their role. They have a keen attention to detail and thrive under pressure, maintaining a deadline-oriented and flexible working attitude.
