About the Role
Budget Energy is seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Credit Controller to join our team. In this fast‑paced role, you will focus on managing cash collections while ensuring adherence to our credit policies. You will play a crucial part in maintaining positive customer relationships, minimizing debt, and supporting the financial health of the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage cash collections for domestic accounts, ensuring timely and efficient processing of payments.
- Ensure strict compliance with the company's credit policies, maintaining consistency and fairness in all interactions.
- Proactively make outbound calls to follow up on outstanding payments and resolve credit control issues.
- Consistently meet or exceed cash collection targets and KPIs to support the company's financial goals.
- Identify overdue accounts and refer them for external debt collection or legal action when necessary.
- Collaborate with customers to set up appropriate payment plans, helping to manage and reduce outstanding debt.
- Oversee outstanding debtors, ensuring all accounts are properly managed and tracked.
- Handle customer service queries related to payments, providing timely and effective resolutions.
- Respond to and send emails, ensuring clear and professional communication with customers and internal teams.
- Prepare regular reports on cash collections, outstanding debts, and other key financial metrics.
- Investigate aged debt issues, resolving or escalating them as necessary to ensure timely resolution.
- Assist with various additional tasks to support the credit control team and broader business operations.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have 1‑2 years of experience working in credit control or accounts receivable. They will possess a strong working knowledge of the collection process and be driven by targets and results. They will be team‑oriented and also competent to work on their own initiative, always seeking to improve individual performance. This person will need excellent customer service skills, demonstrating clear communication—both written and verbal.
