Working within our venue is no ordinary part-time job. As a member of the team, you will be expected to be an ambassador for the Students’ Union. We aim to make life better for students at Bucks and because last academic year we had over 70,000 people visit our venue, you are the face of Bucks Students’ Union at our events. A varied and interesting role, you will work closely with other security and venue staff ensuring the delivery of our duty of care to all customers. This role is enjoyable and rewarding, working in an extremely sociable environment. We expect a high level of commitment and a real passion to be part of a dedicated working team. You will need to be hardworking, fun and always ready to work with a smile on your face.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Acting as an information point for guests.
- Helping set up and pack down the venue during events.
- Acting as first aider during events.
- Ensuring the general safety of the guests, staff, venue managers and any volunteers in the Venue.
- Working as a team with other event security, front door security and stewards, providing mutual support and trust in carrying out duties.
- Protecting the fabric and fittings of the premises and ensuring security of equipment and stock.
- Keeping the premises clean, tidy and free from spillages or other hazards before, during and after opening hours.
- Ensuring The Venue is secure at the end of the night.
- Understanding, following and carrying out Venue policies correctly and professionally.
- Observing and working within licensing, health and safety, hygiene and other regulations pertaining to the operation of the premises.
- Looking after the welfare of all guests in the venue especially vulnerable guests.
- Helping with searches, toilet checks and roaming.
A successful candidate for this role would need to hold, or be willing to obtain an SIA approved license (sponsorship opportunities are available).
