As a Food and Beverage Assistant at Bucks Students’ Union, you will contribute to the effective operation of our catering facilities, supporting the delivery of a high-quality service to students and guests. Working as part of a busy and collaborative team, you will help ensure that exceptional service is always championed and generally assist in revenue generation and stock control within the catering outlets. You will play an important role in representing the Students’ Union, demonstrating its values through your conduct and interactions with customers. This position offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced hospitality setting, while contributing to a vibrant and sociable campus atmosphere.
Key responsibilities include:
- Work with the catering team in the day-to-day operations of commercial activities within agreed standards, procedures and parameters.
- Provide efficient and appropriate service to both internal and external customers, showing high standards of customer care at all times.
- Operate tills, taking payment in line with set procedures.
- Handle stock and equipment in a secure manner.
- Ensure that adequate filling of displays as and when necessary.
- Replenish stocks appropriate to demand and be accountable for control and storage of that stock.
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of food for resale.
- Observe and work within health, safety, hygiene and other regulations pertaining to the operation of the premises.
- Report any potential hazards to the Catering and Hospitality Manager.
- Keep all food areas clean and tidy before, during and after operating hours and undertake cleaning duties as directed.
