Description: Join Our Mission at Buckinghamshire Mind! Are you an organised and personable individual with a passion for supporting a meaningful cause? Buckinghamshire Mind is looking for an HR Advisor for a new, collaborative role supporting two leading local charities: Buckinghamshire Mind and Oxfordshire Mind. Through a new and exciting partnership, the experienced People Team at Oxfordshire Mind will be providing professional HR leadership and day-to-day management for this role, which will be dedicated to supporting the brilliant staff and managers at Buckinghamshire Mind.

The HR Advisor is responsible for managing the full spectrum of employee relations casework, from informal coaching to formal investigations. You will be the first point of contact for all ER matters, ensuring compliance with employment law while championing a culture of fairness and best practice that empowers managers to handle people issues confidently. The purpose of this role is to act as the dedicated, on-the-ground HR professional for Buckinghamshire Mind. You will be responsible for providing high-quality, pragmatic, and compassionate HR support and guidance to its employees and managers.

Contract Type: 12 month fixed term contract

Location: Remote, with occasional travel to High Wycombe, and potential meeting in Oxfordshire

Hours: 22.5 hours per week over 3 or 4 days

Salary: £32,000 FTE, pro rata £19,459.46 for 22.5 hours per week

We promote wellbeing and recovery; we prevent mental ill health; we offer talking therapies and we provide support in times of crisis. Oxfordshire Mind has been supporting people across the county for over 50 years, sharing a similar vision and values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary advisor for all employee relations matters at Buckinghamshire Mind, providing expert and timely guidance on grievances, disciplinary actions, absence management, conduct, capability, and conflict resolution.
  • Support Buckinghamshire Mind’s recruitment process by advising hiring managers, drafting job descriptions, advising on salaries, and participating in interviews where necessary.
  • Assist in the review and implementation of HR policies and procedures at Buckinghamshire Mind, ensuring they are legally compliant and fit for purpose.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent experience)
  • Significant, hands‑on experience managing a varied employee relations caseload (grievance, disciplinary, absence, capability)
  • A strong practical knowledge of UK employment law
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills, and the ability to thrive in a multi-stakeholder environment
  • A passion for supporting staff on the frontline of mental health services.
