Domestic Air Conditioning Installation Engineer - High Wycombe

PlumbLink is looking for an experienced Domestic Air Conditioning Installation Engineer to support our growing air conditioning services across High Wycombe and surrounding areas.

We are looking to build a long term relationship with a reliable self employed Air Conditioning Engineer / AC Installer who can professionally install fixed air conditioning systems in residential properties.

This is an ad hoc subcontracting opportunity, ideal for an established air conditioning engineer looking for additional local installation work alongside their existing customers and commitments.

The Role

You will attend residential properties on behalf of PlumbLink to carry out professional air conditioning installations.

Work will primarily involve fixed residential air conditioning systems, including single split and multi-split installations.

Depending on your experience and qualifications, work may include:

• Domestic air conditioning installation
• Single split air conditioning systems
• Multi-split air conditioning systems
• Wall mounted indoor AC units
• Outdoor condenser unit installation
• Refrigerant pipework installation
• Condensate drainage installation
• Trunking and containment
• System pressure testing
• Vacuum and commissioning procedures
• System commissioning and performance testing
• Air conditioning replacements and upgrades
• Fault finding where required
• Air conditioning servicing and maintenance where required
• Customer demonstrations following installation
• Completing installation and commissioning records
• Photographic records of completed installations

Installations must be completed safely, neatly and in accordance with manufacturer instructions and applicable regulations.

Domestic Installation Work

Our air conditioning service is focused primarily on residential customers.

Projects may include air conditioning for:

• Bedrooms
• Living rooms
• Home offices
• Loft conversions
• Conservatories
• Extensions
• Apartments
• Individual rooms
• Multiple rooms and whole-home multi-split systems

We are particularly interested in engineers experienced with modern inverter air conditioning systems capable of providing both cooling and heating.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for an experienced engineer capable of completing domestic air conditioning installations independently and to a professional standard.

Ideally, you will have:

• Proven air conditioning installation experience
• Experience with domestic split and multi-split AC systems
• Appropriate F-Gas qualification/certification for the work undertaken
• Good knowledge of refrigerant pipework and installation practices
• Experience with pressure testing, evacuation and commissioning
• Strong fault finding and diagnostic ability
• Ability to complete installations independently
• Full UK driving licence
• Own suitable van or work vehicle
• Own professional air conditioning tools and equipment
• Appropriate insurance for subcontract work
• Smartphone with internet access
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Professional appearance and attitude
• Excellent timekeeping and reliability
• High standard of workmanship and attention to detail

Additional electrical, heat pump or HVAC experience would be beneficial.

Customer Service

When undertaking work for PlumbLink, you will represent our business directly at the customer's property.

You should be comfortable discussing the installation with customers, explaining how their new system operates and answering basic questions regarding operation and maintenance.

We expect installations to be finished neatly, with particular attention given to pipework, trunking, condensate drainage and the positioning of indoor and outdoor equipment.

Accurate job notes and photographic records of installations will be required.

Subcontractor Arrangement

This is a self employed, ad hoc subcontracting opportunity rather than a salaried position.

Work will be offered as suitable air conditioning enquiries and installations become available.

The scope of work, installation requirements and subcontractor rate will be agreed before each job.

You will be able to accept work according to your availability, making this particularly suitable for established AC engineers looking to supplement your existing workload.
