We are recruiting for an experienced Management Accountant to join a well-established and growing organisation based in Beaconsfield. Our client is seeking a commercially minded finance professional to support the Financial Controller and play a key role in the financial management and reporting of the business. Working within a small and collaborative finance team, you will be responsible for preparing accurate financial information, supporting business decision-making, and ensuring strong financial controls are maintained across the group. Ideally, you will also be qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or part qualified. The role is office based Mon to Fri with an early finish on Fridays, plus excellent benefits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management accounts and supporting analysis
  • Review and reconcile general ledger and control accounts
  • Perform accrual, prepayment, and cost-of-sales adjustments
  • Monitor work in progress (WIP), loan accounts, and cost-to-complete provisions
  • Produce detailed variance analysis on margins and overheads
  • Prepare management reports including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cashflow reporting
  • Support the preparation of statutory accounts and corporation tax calculations
  • Liaise with auditors and external advisors
  • Prepare and maintain short-term cashflow forecasts
  • Assist with funding proposals and bank drawdown submissions
  • Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Review management company accounts and cashbooks
  • Contribute to process improvements and ad hoc finance projects

Skills/Experience

  • 2+ years in a professional accounting or auditing role and experience in a management accounting position
  • Well organised and flexible, being able to adapt to and willing to take on additional or alternative tasks as required
  • Experience of overseeing a company's financial control and reporting activities
  • Knowledge of change best practices and experience in working with relevant financial and accounting software packages
  • Strong analytical skills along with knowledge of general ledger, budgeting, forecasting, accounting standards and compliance regulations are essential
  • Acting as the link between finance and other disciplines within the Group, you will also need to possess good interpersonal skills and have a good understanding of business and financial issues
  • Computer literate and confident with Excel modelling for forecasting purposes and knowledge of COINS would be preferred
