Our client based in Windsor is currently recruiting for a full time Senior Legal Cashier to start asap. There is potential for this position to be made permanent after a minimum of 3 months temping. Working hours - 9am-5.15pm Monday to Friday - 1005 office based.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Legal Cashier to join our dynamic legal team. In this vital role, you will manage all financial transactions related to legal cases, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. Your expertise will help streamline billing processes, maintain precise financial records, and support the overall financial health of the firm. Responsibilities- Client & Office Account Management
- Maintain client and office ledgers accurately.
- Process client receipts, payments, and transfers.
- Ensure compliance with the Solicitors Regulation Authority Accounts Rules.
- Monitor client account balances and resolve discrepancies.
- Financial Transactions
- Process bank transfers, cheques, and electronic payments.
- Perform daily banking and posting of receipts.
- Handle CHAPS, BACS, and online payments.
- Manage billing transfers from client to office account.
- Reconciliation & Reporting
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
- Reconcile client and office accounts.
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial processes.
- Produce financial reports for management.
- Billing & Disbursements
- Process legal bills and invoices.
- Manage disbursements and expense payments.
- Allocate payments to the correct matters and clients.
- Compliance & Audit
- Ensure all financial activities comply with legal accounting regulations.
- Maintain accurate records for internal and external audits.
- Assist with compliance checks and regulatory reporting.
- Experience working in a law firm accounts department.
- Knowledge of legal accounting rules and client account procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good knowledge of accounting systems and legal practice management software.
