Are you an experienced Legal Cashier looking to join a supportive, professional, and fast-paced finance team? Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-driven individual to take on a key role within their Accounts & Finance department. Working within a friendly cashiering team of four, this position is integral to ensuring the efficient and compliant running of the firm's financial processes. The team maintains the firm's financial health by managing day-to-day transactions, supporting financial reporting, and ensuring full compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Monday to Friday, office based 9am - 5pm. £25k - £35k depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Posting daily client receipts (bank transfer, cheque, credit card)
  • Issuing client payments via BACS and CHAPS
  • Preparing and checking completion statements and Estate Accounts
  • Processing client disbursements
  • Managing client balances in line with SAR
  • Completing daily client bank reconciliations
  • Assisting with month-end billing and credit note processing
  • Processing purchase ledger invoices and scheduling supplier payments
  • Month-end supplier review to ensure payments align with agreed T&Cs
  • Assisting Partners and Fee Earners with ad-hoc financial queries
  • Troubleshooting cashiering and finance-related issues

Skills/Experience

  • Minimum 3 years' legal cashiering experience, covering both client and office accounts
  • Strong billing experience with a clear understanding of VAT treatment on disbursements
  • Solid knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR)
  • Good Excel skills and confidence working with reports
  • The ability to manage workloads, work to deadlines, and communicate clearly
  • A proactive, positive attitude and strong attention to detail
  • Desirable: Experience with P4W (Partner for Windows) or Actionstep
