Job Summary:
The Staff Clinician 2 provides counseling and mental health services to students, including intake sessions, assessments, individual therapy, group therapy, and ,and crisis intervention. This role provides information regarding various resources for students, and consults with colleagues to verify proper procedures for guidance. This role engages in campus outreach events, participates in after hours on-call services, and communicates with faculty, staff, and family members regarding student mental health concerns.

Reporting Relationship:
- Reports to the Director and the Associate Director of the Bucknell Student Counseling Center.
Work Setting/Schedule:
- On campus student facing position with some remote work possible, if deemed clinically appropriate.
- This is an 11-month position, full-time (40 hours per week) benefits-eligible position.
What You Will Do:
- Clinical Service: Provides mental health counseling to students including individual therapy, group therapy, assessments and crisis intervention. Documents and maintains confidentiality of client records.
- Case Management: Provides consultation, case management, after hours on-call crisis management.
- Community-Based Collaborations and Consultations: Conducts outreach to college partners and participates in departmental meetings. Consults with colleagues for professional guidance.
- Professional Development: Stays abreast and informed of best counseling practices.
- Non Essential Functions: The job description’s listed responsibilities and tasks are not exhaustive, additional non-essential tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Required:
- Education: Master’s of Social Work, Professional Counseling OR Master’s degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or a closely related field.
- Professional Work Experience: Two or more years post licensure experience in mental health field working with young adults.
- Professional Certification or License: Licensed as a Clinical Social Worker or Professional Counselor in the State of Pennsylvania. Applicants with master’s degrees must be currently licensed and able to obtain licensure in Pennsylvania prior to start date.Pennsylvania state board approval licensure must be secured within 12 months of start date if relocating from out of state. The university does not reimburse for initial nor renewal licensing fees.
- Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of best practices and legal, ethical, and regulatory issues in mental health; Demonstrated experience in providing outreach on mental health topics and educating groups on overall health and wellness; Demonstrated experience providing short-term/brief therapy and crisis intervention; Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals from a wide range of professional, cultural, and diverse backgrounds.
Preferred, but not required:
- Education: Masters Degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology. Must be licensed in Pennsylvania. If currently licensed in another state, must be licensed in Pennsylvania within 12 months of hire.
- Professional Work Experience: One or more years of experience working in a counseling center at an institution of higher education.
- Knowledge Areas and Skills: Demonstrated experience collaborating across disciplines and campus partners; Knowledge of models of prevention and health promotion and experience conducting community outreach; Strong consultation skills around critical mental health issues affecting students.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to move equipment and supplies weighing up to 30 pounds
- Able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time; sit or stand at a computer and use a mouse/keyboard for long periods of time
- Able to move about the office to access file cabinets and office equipment such as phones, copiers and printers
- Able to work in an environment with a moderate level of interruptions

49,200.00-61,500.00
The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate’s credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.
This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship, all candidates must be authorized to work in the US without a need for current or future visa sponsorship.
