About the Role
This is a key role within the firm, leading our Legal Secretarial function to deliver high-quality support while driving performance and continuous improvement. Based in Peterborough, you’ll travel regularly across our UK offices. This is a full-time, permanent position (37.5 hours per week).
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Operations
- Lead and support Legal Secretaries across multiple offices
- Manage workloads, resource planning, and team performance
- Provide day-to-day guidance, conduct reviews, and handle escalations
- Ensure consistent coverage, stepping in operationally when needed
- Performance & Improvement
- Monitor service quality, productivity, and efficiency
- Drive best practice, process consistency, and continuous improvement
- Support projects, system changes, and operational developments
- Ensure compliance with policies and regulatory standards
- People & Development
- Coach, develop, and engage team members
- Identify training needs and support career progression
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and inductions
- Build strong cross-office relationships through regular travel
About You
- Proven leadership experience managing administrative or secretarial teams
- Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships
- Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable managing change
- Willing to travel regularly; full UK driving licence required and access to your own vehicle
Desirable
- Experience in a legal or professional services environment
- Understanding of legal secretarial support
- Multi-site team management experience
