Kitchen Manager (Inglefield, Isle of Wight)
Overview
Inglefield Residential Home is looking for an experienced Kitchen Manager to join their team. The role is to lead the kitchen team and the cooks and kitchen assistants to create balanced and nutritious meals for residents. You will work to create inspiring mealtimes for residents at the home, catering to all preferences and dietary requirements. You will be in charge of food allocation systems and minimising wastage in the kitchen. You will need to enjoy interacting and communicating with the elderly as you will have a lot of contact with them.
Responsibilities
- Lead the kitchen team (cooks and kitchen assistants) to create balanced and nutritious meals for residents
- Plan inspiring mealtimes and cater to all preferences and dietary requirements
- Oversee food allocation systems and minimise wastage in the kitchen
- Interact with residents and communicate with them regularly
Qualifications
- Several years of experience in hospitality/catering
- Level 2 Food Hygiene
- Level 3 Food Preparation & Service
- Excellent command of English
- Good team player with solid time management
- Ability to prioritise resident and relative needs and offer personalised menu options
- Previous experience in a care home or similar is beneficial
