Responsibilities:
- Implement the recruitment strategy for target markets across the UK
- Design interactive online and offline content for young people, families and teachers
- Deliver engaging presentations and workshops for a variety of stakeholders including prospective students, applicants and teachers
- Manage a network of contacts in schools and colleges to promote recruitment activities
- Effectively evaluate activities to track and monitor engagement from students
- Network with colleagues in other HEIs in respect of best practice with regards to student recruitment
- Attend recruitment fairs and provide accurate information on the University and its courses to prospective students
- Research trends and best practice across the UK education sector in order to inform our provision
- Provide professional advice to academic teams on their outreach activities including the appropriate targeting and evaluation of activities
- Maintain good data compliant with GDPR standards
- Follow safeguarding procedure and pass a DBS check
- Undertake any other responsibilities as required by the Student Recruitment and Outreach Manager
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree or equivalent experience in education
- Experience of delivering student recruitment/outreach activities in a higher education context
- Experience of devising and delivering presentations, workshops and sessions for secondary school students
- Experience of working with young people, parents and/or advisers/influencers
- Experience of networking and building professional relationships
- Knowledge of issues facing the UK Higher Education sector
- Knowledge of national agendas in relation to recruitment of students (including from non-traditional backgrounds)
- Knowledge of undergraduate admissions procedures and practices
Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent presentation skills
- Familiarity with standard Microsoft Office packages and an ability to quickly learn to use new software
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to engage and build relationships and key contacts, such as prospective students, teachers, parents, careers advisers and agents
- Ability to deliver and receive feedback effectively
- Ability to use initiative to solve everyday problems
- Ability to work flexibly and support colleagues in other teams
- Ability to be creative and innovative
Special Requirements:
- DBS Clearance
- Willingness and ability to travel to off-site locations
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends
- Full, clean UK driving licence
