We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Lecturer to join our expanding occupational therapy team within the College of Health and Society. You will be involved in the delivery of the Occupational Therapy Programmes (BSc and apprenticeship route), contributing to new programmes. The post holder will work collaboratively with our practice partners, support the Associate Professor in Occupational Therapy, and have the opportunity to design, develop, innovate, and deliver clinical and theoretical teaching that supports learning and student attainment.
This role requires someone with up-to-date knowledge and understanding of contemporary occupational therapy practice, drive, commitment, and a flair for sharing those attributes with our ambitious and highly capable students. Job Purpose:

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver high quality, innovative and challenging learning experiences
- Undertake associated activities in connection with the courses taught including module leadership, curriculum development, personal tutoring, recruitment, assessment, review and evaluation
- Contribute to the student experience demonstrating an awareness of the need for customer focus in respect of resolving issues
- Engage with business and professional networks to promote teaching and learning and research in a professional context
- Support students in supervising placements, learning in practice, internships and work-related activities
- Deliver pastoral care and project supervision of students
- Plan and deliver the curriculum using appropriate media, including the use of IT
- Provide effective feedback, support and guidance to students, which promotes improvement of performance
Research And Knowledge Exchange:
- Conduct research and scholarly activity, clearly plan to generate income and align own research with teaching and learning
- Engage with relevant business and professional networks to promote teaching and learning and research in a professional context
- Engage in doctoral supervision
- Contribute to knowledge through refereed conference outputs and peer-reviewed (non-conference) outputs
- Embed research within teaching and curriculum and contribute to research impact

- Contribute to the leadership of an inclusive teaching and learning culture and ensuring delivery of excellent student experience and outcomes
- Contribute to research informed innovative pedagogy, curriculum and programme design and planning including digital technology to enhance learning
- Deliver successful and impactful tutoring and pastoral support to students including the support of placements and internships
- Engage with professional bodies, employers and other organisations to enhance professional practice and student outcomes
- Provide effective feedback, support and guidance to students, which promotes improvement of performance
- Participate in funded educational projects as required
Leadership And Academic Citizenship:
- Contribute to growth by increasing student recruitment
- Active participation in business planning, strategy setting and key decision making within the College
- Develop others through mentoring, training and supporting CPD

Person Specification:
- First Degree in a relevant field
- Doctoral level qualification (or working towards) or relevant professional experience in field
- Recognised HE teaching qualification and/or Fellow of the HEA or evidenced commitment to achieving within two years
Knowledge & Experience:
- Delivering an excellent customer experience
- Expert knowledge in discipline/field
- Specialist skills appropriate to the courses taught
- Delivering quality learning and teaching to students/learners/apprentices
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office software
