About the Role

The purpose of the role is to support teaching and learning through the delivery of modules in conjunction with the Programme Leader. Typical duties include class teaching; personal tutorial support; provision of feedback to students; coursework assessment and examination marking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a main point of contact for class teaching for one or more programmes.
  • Teach and support students using a learner‑centred approach.
  • Contribute to the wider work of the Cluster/College and support building an inclusive university community.
  • Demonstrate enhancement activities, such as blended learning, where appropriate.
  • Design and prepare teaching materials within the module/programme framework.
  • Conduct personal tutoring, student recruitment, assessment, review and evaluation.
  • Prepare standard materials, demonstrate techniques, and provide guidance on academic work, examinations and marking.
  • Manage late submissions and handle associated administration.
  • Deliver pastoral care, project supervision and contribute to Open Days and marketing work.
  • Engage in professional development (CPD, conferences).
  • Maintain the university’s reputation in practice partner settings.
  • Comply with legislative and other requirements (Data Protection, Health & Safety, UKVI, Equality & Diversity).
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as directed by the Dean / Associate Dean of College.

Person Specification

Education: First degree in a relevant field (mandatory); working toward a relevant master’s and teaching qualification.

Knowledge & Experience: Adequate discipline knowledge; specialist skills for programmes; excellent MS Office knowledge.

Skills: Strong oral and written communication; excellent organisational and time‑management; flexibility; people skills.

Special Requirements: Willingness to work off‑site locations and contribute to University Open Days (may fall on Saturdays).
