The Senior Regional Officer drives BNU’s global growth and reputation by connecting talented students worldwide with transformative educational opportunities. Working closely with the Regional Manager, the post holder combines market insight with hands-on relationship management to grow a strong and sustainable recruitment pipeline across undergraduate, postgraduate and transnational education (TNE) routes. This role champions BNU’s presence in key markets, nurtures partnerships, and identifies emerging opportunities that strengthen the University’s international impact.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support the Regional Manager to design and deliver targeted market development plans for an assigned region to meet institutional international recruitment and partnership objectives.
  • Promote the University overseas by preparing, delivering and evaluating a variety of recruitment and conversion activities designed to generate demand and increase enrolments to University programmes from suitably qualified candidates.
  • Collaborate with academic and marketing colleagues to deliver impactful conversion activities both in-person and online, evaluating effectiveness and refining future approaches.
  • Support the account management of a network of education agents within the assigned region, including appointment and onboarding, performance monitoring and management, and ongoing training and support, ensuring adherence to the UK Agent Quality Framework (AQF) and University policies.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with regional stakeholders and influencers including sponsors, embassies and education institutions to enhance BNU’s visibility.
  • Identify and evaluate new partnership and transnational education (TNE) opportunities preparing insight reports and supporting due diligence processes managed by the Collaboration Compliance team.
  • Contribute to the creation of region-specific marketing content including digital campaigns and webinars, social media and newsletters that reflect local market dynamics.
  • Support continuous improvement of the international student journey through data-informed use of CRM systems and customer engagement analytics.
  • Develop excellent working relationships with the International Admissions and UKVI Compliance teams to share market intelligence and trends affecting applicant experience and conversion.
  • Actively engage with alumni in the region to support community engagement and recruitment impact (e.g., reunions, ambassador schemes etc.).
  • Remain actively informed of trends and developments in education in the UK and overseas, turning insight into actionable recommendations.
  • Undertake international travel as required by the role (approximately 10 weeks per year).
  • Support team-wide projects and initiatives that enhance the performance, reputation and reach of the Global Collaborations team, and other teams across the External Collaborations Directorate.
  • Comply with relevant legislative and other requirements (e.g., the Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR; Health and Safety; UKVI; and Equality and Diversity) in all working practices.

Person Specification – Essential Criteria Only

  • Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience of working in a sales, marketing or business development environment, ideally in higher education within an international context.
  • Knowledge and understanding of UK Higher Education and current issues affecting it.
  • Evidence of working to, and achieving, agreed goals, objectives or targets.
  • Experience of using CRM systems and ability to create modern, engaging and segmented marketing communications to a range of audiences throughout the customer journey.
  • Experience of managing customer and stakeholder relationships and delivering excellent customer experience.

Skills

  • Digitally able and proficient in Microsoft and other digital marketing tools.
  • Strong diplomacy, relationship-building skills, inter-cultural competence, and ability to influence others.
  • Ability to analyse data to make recommendations and inform decision making.
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills, and the ability to engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders at varying levels of seniority.
  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise own work, and manage competing demands.

  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively overseas, often independently.
