Salary: £44,746 to £56,535 per annum

Role Overview: This role is within the College of Creative Arts, Technology and Engineering and involves teaching undergraduate and postgraduate computing programmes, and a three‑year Digital Technology Solutions Professional Apprenticeship degree.

Teaching Responsibilities:

  • Deliver face‑to‑face and online teaching across computing programmes.
  • Develop and lead curriculum for undergraduate, postgraduate and apprenticeship courses.
  • Provide mentoring, pastoral support and tutoring for students.
  • Use innovative digital technologies to enhance learning.

Research and Knowledge Exchange:

  • Conduct high‑quality research and scholarship aligned with teaching.
  • Publish refereed conference and journal outputs.
  • Secure external funding for research and educational projects.
  • Collaborate with industry and professional bodies.

Professional Development & Leadership:

  • Mentor colleagues and supervise doctoral candidates.
  • Contribute to business planning and strategy within the College.
  • Engage in CPD, conferences and open days.
  • Lead income generation initiatives and research impact.

Qualifications:

  • First degree in a relevant field; doctoral level qualification preferred.
  • Recognised HE teaching qualification or evidence to achieve within two years.
  • Expert knowledge in computing and digital apprenticeship domains.
  • Track record of quality teaching and learning.
  • Experience in generating income or securing external project funding.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the UK required.

  • Front‑end web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Angular, Vue).
  • Back‑end software development (Java, C++, C#, Python, Node.js, PHP, SQL).
  • Mobile app development (React Native, Flutter, Swift, Kotlin).
  • Cloud computing (AWS or Azure).
  • Cyber security and information security.
  • Modern software engineering practices (Agile/Scrum, test automation, CI/CD).
  • Technical/digital leadership experience.
