Key Responsibilities To support the senior finance team in delivering an integrated, efficient, effective and comprehensive Finance Business Partner service to the Academic Colleges. To keep full and accurate management accounts in line with current best practice, “One Version of the Truth”, delivered on a timely basis. To maintain agility in management reporting to meet the continually changing needs of the University and market place, adding value through providing insight and delivering output to drive management action. Supporting the senior finance team with the preparation of the budget and longer‑term forecasting and reporting on the financial performance of individual areas being supported. Build effective working relationships between the Finance Directorate, budget holders, and directorate finance administrators to ensure a consistently high standard of financial service delivery. Support the University Strategy Group (USG) in the management and execution of financial plans both at a consolidated academic and individual Deans of College (DoC) level, driving efficiency and improvement in financial performance and optimising commercial return to underpin financial sustainability of the University. Lead development of the budgets in liaison with budget‑holders (DoC), ensuring the effective and efficient creation of realistic but stretching budget targets that are fully owned and understood by budget holders. Direct and support the completion of month‑end journal postings and routines, maintenance of the general ledger and reconciliations, including income recognition. Coordinate and deliver management reporting providing insight and delivering output to drive performance and influence management action across the academic colleges. Maintaining agility in reporting to meet the continually changing trends in the marketplace and priorities of the University. Own, manage and develop the process for delivery of the University income forecasts across all academic colleges, in support of the annual 5‑Year Strategic Plan and Quarterly Rolling Annual Forecasting processes. Working in collaboration with the planning department, together with the head of external collaborations, to ensure full alignment of targets across the colleges and functional support directorates. Manage and support the year end processes ensuring a clean closure of the year end accounts, providing robust revenue recognition schedules together with additional analysis, in support of the production of the annual report and accounts of the University and its subsidiaries. Support and deputise as required, for the FP Health and Safety; UKVI; and Equality and Diversity) in all working practices.
