Join Our Mission at Buckinghamshire Mind! Are you an organised and personable individual with a passion for supporting a meaningful cause? Buckinghamshire Mind is looking for a Wellbeing Worker to facilitate Wellbeing Groups in both High Wycombe and Aylesbury.

Our wellbeing groups provide activities based around the Five Ways to Wellbeing: connect, be active, take notice, keep learning and give. We aim to support wellbeing and mood through activities such as art, crafting, cooking, interactive games and group discussion. When possible, groups may go on outings and day trips to enjoy activities such as walking or bowling. Wellbeing groups are held in Aylesbury, High Wycombe, Chesham and Chalfont St Peter, but are open to anyone aged 18+ living in Bucks who is experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties.

Contract Type: Up to 1 Year Fixed Term Mat Cover (October start)
Location: High Wycombe and Aylesbury
Salary: £24,454.00 FTE, pro rata £16,522.97 for 25 hours per week
Hours: 25 hours per week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday 9.30am- 2.30pm, Thursday 10.30-3.30pm)

Buckinghamshire Mind is an independent charity providing trusted mental health services to our communities. We are affiliated with national Mind and are part of a network of over 100 Local Minds. We promote wellbeing and recovery; we prevent mental ill health; we offer talking therapies and we provide support in times of crisis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To work as part of a team to facilitate a caring and motivating service which enables attendees with significant mental ill health to achieve their wellness goals and aspirations through recovery focused interventions and person-centred support.
  • Facilitate and lead on activities and opportunities with a focus on wellbeing and recovery in line with the needs of service users. This may include demonstrating the planned activity and supporting service users to participate in the project.
  • Create a positive, lively and supportive atmosphere to promote engagement and inclusivity. Engage warmly with a range of different individuals with varying needs and support individuals to engage with activities being provided.
  • Be responsible for the timely completion of online registers, support plans, risk assessments and all related administration across various digital systems/databases such as Views/CRM.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience and understanding of the issues affecting adults who have significant mental ill health.
  • The ability to motivate, encourage and work individually with people to identify potential and support recovery.
  • The ability to respond appropriately to people in distress and maintain appropriate professional boundaries.
