Job overview: A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist to work at Amersham Hospital providing assessment, acute rehabilitation and timely discharge for patients transferred from the acute hospitals.

Main duties of the job: This is a multi-skilled post requiring experience in acute medical discharge planning, neurology, amputees, falls and other pathologies. You will work under the Band 7 Therapists and alongside Band 6 Therapists and Band 3 clinical support workers. You will work jointly with the patients, physiotherapists, nurses and community teams both on the ward and sometimes the client’s home to enable the clients to be discharged. This post is part of a very friendly, supportive and dynamic Therapy department with integrated individual supervision, appraisal, CPD and in-service training.

  • EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
  • Current registration with Health Professions Council
  • Diploma / Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Evidence of CPD in the form of a detailed personal development portfolio
  • Specific formal courses appropriate to post speciality

  • EXPERIENCE
  • Experience of a junior rotational Occupational Therapy post in the NHS
  • Attendance at post graduate courses in related fields and demonstrates reflective learning

  • Experience of managing own caseload and prioritising
