Band 5 Job Opportunity for Newly Qualified Radiographers or qualified Radiographers seeking a career change and skill development.

The Wycombe radiology department offers a wide range of services across multiple specialties, including Cardiac, Stroke, Neurology, Urology, and Orthopaedics. Band 5 radiographers will undergo a 12-week induction program to prepare them for autonomous practice.

This position is based at Wycombe General Hospital, with the possibility of cross-site work as required.

  • Work independently in designated imaging areas, both during and outside of hours, seeking advice when necessary and following protocols.
  • Conduct equipment quality assurance in line with the QA Programme. Vet and accept imaging requests. Use appropriate imaging sequences based on patient conditions.

The post holder will develop skills to identify and mark abnormalities on plain films (Red Dot Procedure) to assist clinicians in image interpretation. They will also be trained to perform unsupervised CT head and limited contrast-enhanced examinations and supervise students once all competencies are achieved.

Effective communication with patients, carers, and clinical professionals inside and outside the Trust is essential.
