Applications are invited for the appointment to a fixed-term locum Consultant post in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Buckinghamshire Hospitals NHS Trust based at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. The post will comprise 10 PAs with non- resident on call.

We are looking for a motivated and committed individual to join our supportive and forward-thinking Obstetrics and Gynaecology team. The successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate broad experience in both Obstetrics and General Gynaecology.

The post holder will be expected to support the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care that meets the needs of women and their families. A degree of flexibility in supporting service delivery during this period would be desirable.

The successful applicant will be expected to work at both Stoke Mandeville Hospital (SMH) and Wycombe Hospital (WH).

The successful applicant will be expected to:
provide high quality patient centred Consultant led obstetrics and gynaecology services.

provide a range of clinical services across both obstetrics and gynaecology, including labour ward cover, antenatal clinics, emergency gynaecology, general gynaecology outpatient clinics, and gynaecological surgery sessions.

be fully involved with the teaching and training of medical staff within the Department and to work closely with the RCOG College Tutor in this respect.

take part in the induction programme for resident medical staff, participate in GP training and teaching of medical students as required.

participate in the recruitment of resident medical staff as required.

ensure proper delegation to and training of resident medical and nursing staff.

participate in the Consultant on call rota, with internal cover.

undertake administrative and managerial duties associated with the post including attendance at and contributing to departmental meetings.

participate in consultant appraisal, audits and academic events.
