Hours: Full-Time, 37 hours per week

Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service serves a population of more than 800,000 in the Southeast of England. Around 400 Firefighters operate from 19 Fire Stations from the outskirts of London to the South Midlands. We employ around 100 specialist Support Staff, from ICT to Fire Prevention. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Operational Support Manager. Managing the performance of the Service's Operational Support Administration team, which offers administrative support to our Prevention, Response & Resilience and Protection teams.

Working with the Heads of Service for Prevention, Response and Resilience, Service Improvement and Protection to assist in the effective running of the Service.

Acting as the system owner for the Services Premises Risk Management System (PRMS).

Making day-to-day decisions on Operational Support issues and prioritising according to Service aims.

Is a problem solver, actively looking for ways to improve the service we provide.

Understands, as public servants, we must act professionally and responsibly with authority assets, property and funds.

  • A full driving license
  • Business Management Degree level qualification, or equivalent
  • Level 3 Safeguarding or willingness to work towards
  • Proven office/administration experience including multiple workstreams
  • Experience of managing individuals, including performance monitoring
  • Experience of budget management and administration
  • Highly skilled in the use of Microsoft Office systems and the ability to utilise tools to improve workflow efficiency.
